Implant-supported overdentures require attachment systems capable of providing predictable retention, a favorable path of insertion, and long-term clinical reliability.

The DESSLoc® system has been developed to address these restorative requirements through a comprehensive range of attachment solutions compatible with widely established overdenture protocols.

A key feature of the system is DESS® Periocoat® Technology, a patented Zirconium Nitride (ZrN) surface coating incorporated into all DESSLoc® attachments. This engineered surface has been developed to improve wear and corrosion resistance while helping reduce biofilm and bacterial plaque adhesion, contributing to the long-term maintenance of both the attachment system and the surrounding peri-implant tissues.

The result is a surface designed to preserve its mechanical properties throughout clinical service while supporting the long-term stability of implant-supported overdenture rehabilitations.

To further expand the restorative possibilities of the system, DESS® has introduced Angled DESSLoc®, an angulated attachment specifically developed for overdenture rehabilitations involving divergent implants. Its 18° angulated design, combined with DESSLoc® Extended Range Retention Inserts (40°), allows compensation of up to 76° of implant divergence, facilitating a more favorable prosthetic path of insertion while maintaining conventional restorative protocols.

Angled DESSLoc®: Expanding Restorative Possibilities

Bone availability, patient anatomy, and the proximity of critical anatomical structures may influence implant positioning, resulting in implant divergence that complicates overdenture insertion.

To address these clinical situations, DESS® has developed Angled DESSLoc®.

Its 18° angulated design, combined with DESSLoc® 40° inserts, allows compensation of up to 76° of divergence between implants.

This configuration improves the prosthetic path of insertion while expanding the range of clinical situations that can be restored with implant-supported overdentures.
