Dr. Oscar Retamal joins DESS® as new KOL

We welcome Dr. Oscar Retamal Torres, who joins DESS® as a new Key Opinion Leader (KOL). He has extensive experience in the dental sector, specializing in surgical implantology, oral rehabilitation and digital workflows. Dr. Retamal is currently practicing as an oral maxillofacial implantologist at the Holger Heyn & Kollegen Clinic in Berlin (Germany).

Clinical training and experience in the dental sector

Specialization, constant updating and interdisciplinary vision

His vocation for dentistry has been clear from the very beginning of his career. Since 2008, he has directed his professional career towards the dental sector, training in:

  • Dental Surgery at the Universidad del Desarrollo (Chile) - from 2008 to 2013.
  • Oral and Maxillofacial Implantology at the Universidad del Desarrollo (Chile) - from 2015 to 2017.

He is currently a member of the EAO (European Association for Osseointegration), one of the most influential scientific organizations in the field of implantology, and of the DDS (Digital Dentistry Society), an international benchmark in the innovation and application of digital technologies such as CAD/CAM, 3D printing and artificial intelligence in dentistry.

Moreover, his training has been complemented with clinical stays and programs in Europe aimed at surgery, prosthetics and advanced esthetics.

For more than 10 years, Dr. Retamal has developed his skills in different prestigious institutions:

  • Clínica Ría, Vitacura, Santiago (2019-2024): Implant rehabilitation, dental esthetics and clinical leadership in dentofacial harmonization.
  • IntegraMédica (part of Bupa), Santiago (2018-2019): Oral surgery and implant treatments.
  • Clinica Las Hualtatas, Vitacura (2015-2019): Private practice focused on esthetic and functional dentistry.
  • Uno Salud Dental (2014-2018): Comprehensive dentistry and dental implants.
  • Clínica UDD (2014): Assistance in dental emergencies, surgery and academic training as a clinical assistant at the Universidad del Desarrollo.
